"Salesman's dummy" or sample copy. Approx. 80pp. plus several pages of blank ruled sheets for "name, address, price". It has approx. 26 full page black and white photographs, including the crowd at Croydon in London with the Spirit of St. Louis circling overhead, about 6 or more pictures of Lindbergh with (or in) the Spirit of St. Louis, a picture of the plane's engine, a picture of the plane's navigating equipment, Commander Richard Byrd and the Fokker North Pole plane, Commander John Rogers and his seaplane in which he flew non-stop to Hawaii, a group portrait of the six "United States 'Round the World Fliers'", a picture of Amundsen's blimp (??) an in-text map, an in-text diagram of Lindbergh's plane and numerous pictures of crowds greeting and celebrating Lindbergh, (including ticker tape parade down Broadway) and Lindbergh in portrait, alone, with his mother and the plane and with various dignitaries. Back board has gilt title and small gilt decoration of airplane. There is a nick at one fore edge about the size of a short grain of rice and a slight burr higher up and the front cover hasvery light white speckling (foxing?). The interior is tight, fresh and bright with no marks or blemishes. Despite the rather minor defects noted it is still a very attractive very good plus to near fine copy. SCARCE issue. Near Fine.
