E. R. P. [EDWIN RUMBALL-PETRE]
The book without a name: being the 18th century journal of an unmarried English lady to her natural son.
Faber & Faber, 1929. Reprint; Second Printing. Hardcover. Clean hardback tightly bound in green cloth with black titles, cloth has marking to the rear panel, no inscriptions. 258 pages, portrait frontispiece. Alleged to be based on real 18th century journals, but so was Anne Hughes 'The diary of a farmer's wife', and this reads more like fiction than that does. Good with no dust jacket.

Belfast: Marcus Ward & Co, 1870. First Edition. Hardcover. Clean album tightly bound in full red leather with gilt titles, watered silk endpapers, all edges gilt, minor rubbing at corners, neat inscription on the front endpaper ['James Wrigley Jun. a New Years gift from his sisters, Jan 1st 1870']. 30 pages, with more than 450 different heraldic devices, including several Royal & titled families, many Naval vessels, & Mr Gladstone M.P. A beautiful album, the coloured and embossed crests appear to have been hand cut from letterheads and business cards and appear to be arranged in accordance with a system - which may have some significance to one better versed in heraldry than the pleb doing the cataloguing. BANKART, GEO. P.
Leadwork.
Geo. P. Bankart, 1910. First Edition. Softcover. Clean and tightly bound paperback original, no inscriptions, card covers a little worn at corners and staples are rusty, but generally appears little used. Unpaginated (43 pages) with illustrations throughout - plates are numbered from 25 - 66. Note that plate 53 is bound in upside down. Undated but as several of the castings have the date as part of the decoration, and the latest date is 1909, we're guessing this is about 1910. Absolutely gorgeous designs for garden planters, guttering, rain water heads, etc. which are about as far removed from the stuff they sell nowadays as is possible to imagine. Good.
