Hertzog was president of the Ohio Amateur Printers Association and lists a "Directory of Amateur Papers". BURRO ALLEY NO. 5.
Photographed and Published at Santa Fe, N. M. by Henry Brown, ca. mid-1880s. Albumen stereo card of the famous Burro Alley in Santa Fe (today the site of posh restaurants). Sharp and near fine with 2 small spots in sky area of one view and minor losses.The scene shows 12 men and boys standing around numerous burros with saddles and ropes on their backs, probably to secure water kegs which can be seen in the background. One is a Pueblo Indian man wearing a typical Pueblo-made striped blanket and Pueblo style mocassins and leggings; another man, probably also Indian, is wrapped in a dark blanket. Most of the others appear to be Hispanic. The adobe buildings lining both sides of Burro Alley appear in the background. On verso is letterpress touting trip from Trinidad, Colorado through New Mexico to Paso-del-Norte, Mexico.
