The tradition of the Santo Jubileo (Holy Year) dates back to the Old Testament and in Catholic practice to the 1300s. Every 25 years it is celebrated as a year of universal pardon and forgiveness of sins. Traditionally many thousands of pilgrims come to Rome for the celebration of the Jubilee. This book begins with some history of the celebration of the Santo Jubileo in past centuries, and concludes with the texts of the proper prayers to be said. Rare. Worldcat locates only the 16 pp. first printing at one institution (University of Texas).

With man wearing sombrero standing next to him. 5 x 7 inches on mat 8 x 10. Mat soiled and worn at edges, chips to margins of photograph and pinhole through center, with some slight abrasions. The title is written in ink under the image and on verso is caption: "El Catrin. a la edad de dos anos y medio. Por Jose Piedad Cortes. Enero 22 de 1914 [signed]: Jose Cortes. Abasolo Guanajuato." The name "El Catrin" means "The Dandy" or "The Sport."
