Illustrated with 20 plates, 2 folding plates, 16 folding maps in colour, and 1 folding map in black and white. Lacking 3 plates and the removable map. Collated. A comprehensive survey of Bristol and Bath and the surrounding areas, with information on the history, archaeology, geology, administration, climate, topography, population and services of these places, among other statistics. In a quarter cloth binding with pictorial boards. Externally sound, with shelf wear to the boards, extremities and spine, and small losses to the spine label, not obscuring the text. Front hinge is starting but remains reasonably firm. Internally, lacking the two first pages and 3 plates. Pages 1, 2, 15 and 16 are detached but intact. Pages iii to 1, and pages 3 to 15 are coming loose. However, the rest of the pages are firmly bound. Second, twelfth, fifteenth and seventeenth folding maps have been amateurishly repaired with tape.
