High-Energy Scattering. Berkeley Commune, Up Against the Wall/Motherfucker Flier
No Place, No Publisher. Unbound. High-Energy Scattering. Berkeley Commune, Up Against the Wall/Motherfucker Flier. No publisher, place or date. Presumed Berkeley Commune, UAWM, publishers, Berkeley ca 1968. Single sheet. 8 ½ by 11 inches. Printed on both sides. Photomechanically reproduced. A few small illustrations on one side, with a poem-like piece on the other. A flier printing a manifesto style piece by the Berkeley Commune and Up Against the Wall/Motherfucker. Calling free speech and free assembly "bull-shit issues," the paper declares that "we are fighting for our lives-for free streets on which we can live the life-style we create as an alternative to the amerikan way of death." The reverse contains a poem styled piece "Diversionary Games. A Call for Revolutionary Olympics," that outlines militant engagement actions in general terms. UAWM was formed in New York, employing Situationist and anarchist tactics to bring attention to the oppressive powers and systems in the United States. The group was loosely affiliated, with several core members, and in this instance it is not known how the Berkeley Commune and UAWM were connected, although it is possible that members of UAWM who left New York due to legal pressures, etc. gathered in Berkeley. GOOD condition. Horizontal and vertical fold creases present. Minor toning and wrinkling. Title slightly cropped at the top edge, most likely due to the printing process. Good .

Not Black Power... Not White Power... But Worker's Power! Vote Socialist Labor Party. Promotional Pamphlet
San Francisco, Socialist Labor Party, Publisher, 1968. Pamphlet. Single sheet, folded once to make 4 pages. Illustrated front page. A short work urging voters of California to vote for candidates sponsored by the socialist Labor Party, including Henning Blomen for president. The front cover illustration (by Walter Steinhilber) depicts, in two boxes, Black and white workers fighting and then cooperating to overthrow capitalism. Presumably written in the context of various protests and rebellions by Blacks in various cities in the United States in the late 1960s, the pamphlet urges all workers to work together to overthrow capitalism. Acknowledging the systemic racism in the United States, the work urges Black people to work to change the political and economic system in the United States through revolution but not through a violent revolution. It cites the Watts rebellion, among others, as examples of protests that worked against the inhabitants of those cities and suggests the US government has military plans to intervene in cities in the future. GOOD+ condition. Moderate toning and minor creasing to the pamphlet. Good .
