Many of the frames remain unused, though some contain small portraits adhered inside. Also included are many cut out portraits enclosed in protective plastic sleeves. Bound in full morocco by Broadbere of Southampton.Containing an ink inscription to one of the front free-endpapers: 'Pamela Carys, 1926&apos. Handsomely bound in full morocco with gilt detailing to the boards and spine by Broadbere, with their binder's sticker to the front pastedown. Externally, very smart, with some light rubbing to the joints, spine and extremities, and some light shelf wear to the boards. Previous owner's ink inscription to one of the front free-endpapers. Internally, pages detached as issued. Some of the pages contain small portraits adhered, and some of the frames have been used or cut out. A very unique object, a personalised photo album from the Victorian era, bound in full morocco with gilt initials to the front board: 'H.D.C.' Containing sixty detached pages of embellished and richly decorated frames, mostly unused and ready for future memories. Three of the frames contain small portraits adhered to them, and one contains a pencilled drawing, dated 1846. To the rear of the photobook are two post cards from Dinan, France, undated, and adhered to the rear free-endpaper. A scarce, unique object. In full morocco binding with gilt detailing to the boards and spine. Externally, smart, with some rubbing to the joints, spine, and extremities. A few marks to the boards. Two post cards adhered to the verso of the rear free-endpaper. Internally, pages are detached, as issued. These evocative photographs are unfortunately without annotations but capture a variety of places from around Europe, though principally in Britain, during the Edwardian era. An original photo-album with eleven family portraits pasted to the leaves and iconographic images, as well as numerous blank spaces for mounting photographs. Twenty-five leaves are decorated with hand-drawn and coloured decorations with frames to insert pictures. In a stunning decorative binding in wooden boards, with doubleur endpapers. A charming book that would make a lovely and original family photo album. In a stunning decorative binding with leather spine and wooden boards, with doubleur endpapers and metal clasps, lacking the key to lock it. Externally very smart with minor shelf wear, light rubbing to the spine and rear board. Internally, the hinges are slightly strained. The volume generally firmly bound. The pages are very clean throughout, in double thick sheets. With eleven family portraits pasted to the leaves and iconographic images, as well as numerous blank spaces for mounting photographs. Exeter, Privately Printed , c1864. Leather. A very scarce, original Victorian photo-album depicting Thomas Tatem's family by Exeter based photographer Owen Angel. An exciting and very scarce original Victorian photobook depicting the family of Thomas Tatem (1841-68). He was born in Appledore, Devon, and passed away in the same area. He was the son of James and Ann Tatem, married to Louisa Cock, and had four children. A copy dated and identified by an inscription to the front pastedown 'Thomas Tatem, Appledore Devon, 10th March 1864.'The pictures were taken by Owen Angel in High Street. Angel was an engraver and printer in Exeter before he started his career as a photographer in 1855, advertising  "daily photographic portraits" in the Trewman's Exeter Flying Post. From 1861 to 1889, his business was situated at 11 High Street, which is were the present pictures were taken with the aid of his wife and daughter. He died in 1909. With forty-seven photographs inserted into thick paper, the photos shown to the recto and verso of each leaf. In need of a rebinding.  From the library at Julian Park, Hertfordshire, belonging to Audrey Pleydell-Bouverie. Audrey was the youngest daughter of an Anglo-American lumber and steel millionaire, sister to Edward James, a key figure in the Surrealist movement, and the illegitimate granddaughter of King Edward VII. She was an English socialite known for her beauty and for charming various wealthy men, she was included in The Book of Beauty by Cecil Beaton. A patron of the arts, she assisted Viscount Carlow financially in the publication of limited editions of numerous works by leading literary figures such as T E Lawrence, James Joyce, Wyndham Lewis, and others. A hedonistic pursuer, she was recognised as one of the 'Bright Young Things&apos.  In the original publisher's full morocco binding, embossed to the spine and boards. Externally rather worn, with some shelf wear and chipping, a minor closed tear and some fading to the spine. Inscribed by the previous owner to the front pastedown, dated 1864. Internally, the binding is split into four, the back strip detached. With minor soiling to the leaves and some chipping to the pages, one photograph is loose. With forty-seven photographs inserted into thick paper, the photos shown to the recto and verso of each leaf.  Fair . Ill.: Own Angel. Fair .

Containing sixteen leaves, with either one, four, or nine rectangular or oval slots on each side, the majority with paper guards. Featuring an assortment of formal and casual portraits and groups, and causal scenes such as boating. Two photographs show regimental uniform, and another Spanish folk costume. A number are trimmed photograph postcards (popular from c1900) with handwriting on the reverse. Containing photographs from the following studios: Killicks and Abbot, Rosslyn Hill Studio, Hampstead, London; Schuth's Photographic Galleries, London and Woking; W. Hobcraft, Oxford Street, London; Beatie and Co; U.S.A. Studios, London and Provinces; Gorsuch, 48 Junction Road, Upper Holloway; W.F. Wood, Day and Electric Light Studios, Edgewear Road and Bishop's Road, London; Hellis and Sons, London; J. Cruickshank Taylor and Sons, Newgate Stree, London; and Hellis and Sons, London. The costumes suggest that the photographs date from c1880 to the Edwardian period, but are not necessarily in chronological order. The first edition, first impression of this important work from British photographer and photojournalist Bill Brandt, in the publisher's original price unclipped dust wrapper. This work is signed by Bill Brandt to the half title: 'For Sir George Pollock with gratitude Bill Brandt&apos. Sir George Pollock was an accomplished photographer in his own right, a president of the Royal Photographic Society whose abstract work in the 1960's drew huge attention in the art world. He also acted as a consultant to the BBC in advising them in the iconic opening credits for the original 'Doctor Who&apos.The publication of this work in 1961 marked, in the words of curators Martina Droth and Paul Messier, 'the point at which Brandt"s stature as an art world figure came onto assured footing', and it was after this seminal work that people came to recognize Brandt as an artist rather than a journalist.This was Brandt's firs publication of nudes, a subject 'which has obsessed him since 1945', according to the dust wrapper. Chronologically arranged, the photographs in this work record the transition from 'an early romantic style to more classical themes&apos. Oxford, Alden & Co. c1888. Cloth. A very scarce catalogue of forty-eight photographs of beautiful Oxford architecture. In the publisher's original quarter cloth binding. Ink inscription to the title page, dated 1888. 48 black and white photographs on 24 plates, including images of Oxford colleges and examination schools, its churches and Oxford Cathedral, the Radcliffe Camera and the university's museum, amongst others. This volume contains a list of all the photographs to the front paste down. These photographs were produced using the collotype process, which was primarily used between the 1870s and 1920s. Alden & Co, set up in 1832, were best known for publishing Oxford"s first ever guide book, Alden"s Oxford Guide, which remained in print for many years. Advertisement for Alden & Co to the rear paste down. In publisher's original quarter cloth binding. Externally sound, with some staining to the front board, and wear to the boards, extremities, and head and tail of the spine. Small losses to the head and tail of the spine. The front hinge is starting but still reasonably firm. Internally, binding is slightly strained in a couple of places.
