An early twentieth century edition of Allcocks Anglers Guide in the original quarter cloth binding and paper wraps. The Allcocks Company was one of the world's largest tackle makers based in Redditch, founded by Polycarp Allcock. Undated, the most recent publication advertised was first published in 1932. A scarce work with few other editions in libraries. Densely illustrated throughout in black and white and with the odd page in yellow. In the original quarter cloth binding and paper wraps. Externally, smart. There is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. There are some marks to the boards. Focused on angling, fishing method by means of a fish hook of 'angle,' with the hook attached to a fishing line manipulated via a fishing rod. With descriptions of British angling flies' kinds, sizes, shapes, and colours. Collated, complete with nine lithographic full page plates despite the plate list mentioning only eight, and another engraving in text.  In the original publisher's full cloth binding.
