U. S. A. Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1965. First American Edition. Paperback. Collectible Rare Woodstock Original Very Good 1965' day planner Book of Father Francis of the Church on the Mount in Woodstock N.Y. Earlier in England he was an 'Avalonian' known as Reverend Brothers and friend of Bligh Bond in Glastonbury and who later stayed with him in Woodstock N.Y. as did Kahlil Gibran he married Bob Dylan and Sara Dylan up at the Church up rock city road. In this "Book of Hours" Day Book from the Cloisters he writes in pen about visitors to the Woodstock Church and marks the marriage of Ramblin Jack Elliott and many others who came to visit. Many Beatnik and "Hippy" Woodstockers from the Sixties and the 'Village' are here. Many famous people from stage are here too. Even, Not mentioned here, were FDR. This day book in his own handwriting and comments in this Cloisters Calendar book of Hours. VERY RARE his own handwriting, as was the beloved Father Francis and a close friend of mine and my Three Geese in Flight Celtic Bookshop in Woodstock for forty years. Many surprise birthday parties he would show at my house in Bearsville where he once gave me this daybook of his. All who know him, loved his kindness, his quiet spirituality and wit. He was hammering on the church roof at 90 and said to me "Oh it's you I thought it was the undertaker" I asked him once when I drove him to a Russian Monastery in the Catskills with a secret letter about Rasputin, "What was Bob Dylan like?" He said with a gleam, to paraphrase He's o.k, but his wife Sara is the one!" Something to that effect Rare one of a kind Woodstock New York piece written in a Cloisters New York Book of Hours Daybook by a man who truly was the spirit of Woodstock. Ask anyone who knew him. Very Good .
