Illustrated, with a folding portrait frontispiece of the author and four folding tables. With the errata to the rear. Collated, this copy has been bound without the folding map. ESTC reference no: T138831. With the signatures: [2], B-E8, F4, G1. Richard Whitworth was a strong advocate of inland navigation and this work promotes this theory. He discusses inland navigation in England between Bristol, Liverpool and Hull. He discusses the plans for this, the cost, as well as the benefits. A smart copy of this extremely scarce work. In a near contemporary full calf binding. Externally, generally smart with slight rubbing to the joints and to the extremities. Front hinge is strained but firm. Small loss to the head and tail of spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. A few chips to the extremities of endpapers. Several tide marks to the front pastedown.
