Peter Cameron was an English entomologist who specialised in Hymenoptera. An artist, Cameron worked in the dye industry and in calico printing, of which his works are featured within these volumes. A fascinating guide to the birds of the Nile Valley in Egypt. Written by Mary Cecil, the 2nd Baroness Amherst of Hackney. Cecil was a British amateur archaeologist and ornithologist. She is best known for excavating the Tombs of the Nobles in Egypt, which were then referred to as the 'Cecil Tombs&apos. The half title page is present, alongside two pages of advertisements to the rear of the book. With the previous owner's neat gift inscription to the front blank, dated 1904. In the publisher's pictorial cloth binding. Externally, a trifle rubbed with some staining to the boards. Shelf wear to the edges and darkening to the spine. Marks to the upper paste-downs.
