A collection of musical scores for Hungarian songs for the voice and piano by Jeno Hubay, an Hungarian violinist and composer. With 18 illustrations at the head of each composition, done by different Hungarian artists. This includes Gyula Agghazy, Otto Baditz, Lajos Ebner, Arpad Feszty, Imre Greguss, Janos Greguss and many others. POOR/FAIR condition. Minor fading and scuffing to the covers. Cloth frayed and worn the spine tips and corners. Covers cracked and separated along both interior hinges, with the text block SEPARATE from the covers, although the covers are still intact with each other. First 4 pages, title page and front endpaper DETACHED and separate from the text block, with page 67 and rear endpaper also DETACHED and separate. Rest of the text block weak but holding. Paper toned. A few pencil tick marks in the contents. Poor/No Jacket.

Small, oblong book. 216 pp. A collection of songs, many secular, for use in the instruction of singing or for singing at schools. With a section teaching the art of singing. Songs include those related to sailing, fishing and maritime topics; those related to cities such as Wilmot, Nuremburg and others; songs of the seasons; a harvest song; songs on farming, etc. Artemas Nixon Johnson was a 19th century American musician from the New England/Boston area, being very active in the American Musical Convention, as well as a former student and contemporary of Lowell Mason (see Stopp, Johnson Versus Mason). GOOD condition. Several tiny insect holes along the front hinge. General fading, with some soiling and staining. Extremities rather scuffed and bumped. Leather chipped, with minor loss, at the head and tail of the spine. Interior clean and solid. Some offsetting to the endpapers. Good .

The Last Temptations is considered to be one of the most important Finnish operas, and documents the life of folk preacher Paavo Ruotsalainen in the late 18th/early 19th centuries (Wikipedia). Joonas Kokkonen was a 20th century Finnish composer who composed chamber music as well as several symphonies. GOOD condition. Covers curling along the fore edge. Minor scuffing and edgewear. Small price sticker on the rear cover. Some toning to the paper, with very minor foxing to the upper corners of a few pages. A few leaves from the Met Opera House performance laid in. Good .

Circa 1979 based on the small dismissive piece of the newly formed Spandau Ballet found at the end of the fanzine. Straightforward in style and content, with a slight tinge of jaded humor, this zine contains a lengthy interview and article on Dexy's Midnight Runners, as well as a piece on the British rock journalist and comic writer, Danny Baker. VERY GOOD condition. Minor toning and wrinkling. (Mark Jay Collection). Very Good .

Written by Luigi and Federico Ricci, the Cobbler and the Fairy was a highly successful Italian comic opera. Both brothers were Italian composers, primarily of operas, collaborating several times. GOOD+ condition. Moderate uneven browning to the covers, with minor staining to the front cover and minor to moderate soiling to the rear. Minor creasing, curling and chipping along the extremities. Interior clean and solid with minor offsetting to a few pages. Good .

Oblong format. 360 pp. A songster, song book/hymnal containing both religious and secular songs, including many short ones on various cities, towns and states around the United States. Many by composers such as Billings, Holden, Edson, Holyoke, Kimball, Morgan, Wood, Swan and others. Selected and edited by Daniel H. Mansfield, a reverend from Maine, this work 'combined elements of the elite and popular music cultures of his day,' drawing from the 'legacy of Puritan New England,' as well as work from Boston's European movement (Religions of the United States in Practice, Vol. 1 p 96). Also of note, many of the pieces in the second and third section of the work were related to millennial themes, reflecting the influence and importance of the Millerite movement (ibid p. 96). FAIR condition. Heavy darkening to the paper, with moderate soiling and staining. Covers creased, very scuffed and worn looking, with the paper peeled off in several 1 to 2 inch sections, especially along the extremities. Extremities bumped and worn. Interior solid, with moderate to heavy scattered foxing, some staining and soiling throughout, including a faint dampstain at the lower corner of the first several pages. Fair/No Jacket.
