Captain George Edward Thomas Eyston OBE (1897-1979) was a British racing driver, remembered for breaking the land speed record thrice between 1937 and 1939 in his vehicle Thunderbolt; he also won the Segrave Trophy in 1935. Barré Lyndon (1896-1972) was best known for being a screenwriter and playwright; however, during his early career he was a journalist specialising in motor-racing. He penned six novels on the subject of motor racing, as well as films including 'The Man in Half Moon Street', 'The Lodger' and 'Hangover Square&apos.
