A primarily pictorial look the United States Navy through various ships representative of the fleet. With short descriptive commentary throughout. Included are photos of battleships West Virginia, Idaho and Texas; aircraft carrier Lexington; light cruiser Richmond; destroyer Pruitt; fleet submarine V-1and submarine S-9; a dirigible or airship Los Angeles; and three photos of various Navy planes. GOOD condition. Half inch chip missing from the upper front cover. Moderate browning and soiling, with some stains, dark scuffs and faint foxing to the wraps. Some wrinkling and creasing along the extremities, with a few small tears. Minor toning and wrinkling in the interior. Good .

This includes some brief history of the 8th Air Force, as well as recounting its use of precision bombing in Germany, and efforts in Japan. This includes photos of bombed areas in Japan, photos of some of the bombers, including the B-29 Super-fortress perhaps for which this journal was named. The 8th US Air Force was established in 1942 and primarily operated in the European theater during World War II, eventually establishing operations in Japan after the end of the war in Europe. GOOD condition. Horizontal fold crease present. Minor soiling, staining and wrinkling to the piece. Good .

Large, side stapled pamphlet. 7 pp. A statement to British officials present to the Houses of Parliament, in which the German counterintelligence operator, Horst von der Goltz, details his actions and role in the conspiracy to blow up locks in the Erie Canal system, a plan which was not executed. Goltz names his fellow conspirators, as well as action prior to and following the aborted sabotage. With appendices providing addressess of associates, as well as contents of telegrams. Horst von der Goltz was detained for most of World War I by British officials, under suspicion of being a spy working for Germany. GOOD condition. Two horizontal fold creases present. Paper toned. Minor soiling and wrinkling. Good .

A piece describing the purpose, facilities and amenities of the Truax Army Air Field in Wisconsin. Laid in at the front cover are three small diplomas from the Army Air Forces Training Command relating to various training being completed for a private William B. Cummings. The Truax facility primarily provided training for radio operators and mechanics. It was activated in 1942, and eventually provided training in radar, control tower and other communications. GOOD+ condition. Some toning to the wraps. Minor soiling and staining to the rear cover. A few small creases present. Interior solid with minor toning. Good .
