Illustrated by George Cruikshank, a British caricaturist and book illustrator, praised as the "modern Hogarth" during his life, best known for his book illustrations for his friend Charles Dickens. Previously held in the library of William Hesketh Lever, 1st Viscount Leverhulme, an English industrialist, philanthropist, and politician. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. The odd small mark to the boards. Light loss to the spine label of volume one, with further loss to the spine labels of volumes two and three. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot.
