A tumultuous battle scene with a chariot in the foreground, on which a general whose chest is pierced by an arrow.Etching on hand laid paper, sheet size 203 x 253 mm., etching by an anonymous artist, c. 1650-1700, whose style suggests the work of Romeyn de Hooghe (1645-1708). In good condition, cropped within platemark. A few tiny stains in the top right corner, a pinhole in the lower right corner. The collector's mark of Pim van Eekelen (Lugt 5101) stamped verso.

Lettered above the image "Spectamur Agendo", with the engraver's monogram and date 1769, and below the image with a Greek inscription and the information in Italian that the print was drawn and engraved in four hours by Baillie, captain of the 3rd light horse regiment: "?? µ?? ??f?e?e / Delineato & inciso in Quatr'Ore WBaillie Capt. di 3d. Rego Caval Legiera". The Greek transliterates as 'Il mio Alfiere', or 'my flag-bearer'.l Etching and drypoint on paper with tiny margins; plate mark 150 x 75 mm, total: 158 x 82 mm; in very good condition, bottom left corner slightly damaged but not affecting the plate; Le Blanc 92.
