The fifth edition of this vanishingly scarce work. Only one record of this work being held institutionally, at the British Library.The catalogue of the 1930 sale of the entire contents of the Hotel Cecil. The sale consisted of 11,835 lots across a twenty days, commencing on Monday 5th May 1930.London's Hotel Cecil was a grand hotel which opened in 1896, designed in the 'Wrenaissance style&apos. When it opened the hotel was the largest in the Europe, with over 800 rooms. An impressive institution, the hotel was largely demolished. This catalogue shows the entire contents of the impressive hotel, with lots ranging from a vast variety of different colour Axminster rugs, a mahogany wardrobe, a chimney glass in white enamelled frame, a japanned iron bed frame, a pair of walnut circular smoking room tables, various products from the hairdressing salons, a complete service of 'Royal' electroplate with the design of entwined ribbon and rib design and crest, and much more.Illustrated with a frontispiece, showing the hotel. In the original publisher's paper wraps. externally, generally smart, with some light marks to the wraps. Very light edge wear to the wraps. Spine is a little sunned.
