Very Good interior, and having been lovingly rebound in new full green leather with stamped borders and flourishes by the master binder Pat Bruno in 2000. Contains a folding map of the world, a fold-out illustration of the artificial sphere including the Ptolomean system and the Tychghonick system. The illustration is a perfect facsimile of the original. Former gilt lettering on spine has rubbed away. The publication date for this stated Fifteenth Edition is not stated, but on p. 44 the union of Ireland and England is suggested to be occurring, which did in fact occur in 1800. Translated from the French of Abbe Lenglet Du Fresnoy, though it is not stated by whom. The sub-title for this handsome little tome continues thusly: "Designed Principally FOR THE USE OF SCHOOLS. Whereby Even Children may, in a short time, keep the Use of the Terrestrial Globe and Geographical Maps, and all considerable Countries in the World, their Situation, Boundaries, Extent, Division, Islands, Rivers, Lakes, Chief Cities, Government and Religion.
