La Chasse spirituelle is een mythische prozatekst van Rimbaud, door Verlaine als een meesterwerk beschouwd, maar waarschijnlijk vernietigd door diens vrouw. Beschouwd als éen van de beroemdste verloren gegane kunstwerken, verscheen het in mei 1949 plotseling bij Mercure de France, ingeleid door Pascal Pia. André Breton ontmaskerde het werk al snel als een vervalsing en twee jonge toneelstudenten gaven toe de tekst te hebben geschreven. Bijgevoegd: André BRETON, Flagrant délit. Rimbaud devant la conjuration de l'imposture et du truquage. Paris, Thésée, 1949. Ingenaaid. 70 p. 1e druk.
¶ In deze uitgave, nog geen twee maanden na de verschijning van La Chasse spirituelle gepubliceerd, ontmaskerde Breton de tekst als een vervalsing.
