'The Mystery' is an intriguing, remarkable tale, set on the high seas, with elements of the novel drawing from the real-life story of the Mary Celeste. A sailing ship is found abandoned in the south seas, perfectly intact but missing the crew. The mystery deepens when the salvage parties sent to recover the ship also seem to disappear.
