Cooper, James Fenimore
The Last of the Mohicans: A Narrative of 1757
New York, Charles Scribner's Sons, 1919. Reprint Edition. Hardcover. Size: Large 8vo 9" - 10. This is called a "classic" for good reason. Another in a series of classic children's book titles, an addition to the Scribner Illustrated Classics for Children, published by Charles Scribner's Sons. Black cloth over boards, very lightly rubbed gilt lettering to spine, light rubbing to, bumping of spine head and foot. Very slightly wavy text-block, but signs of neither moisture nor odor. Augmented greatly with the illustrations of N.C. Wyeth, full-color, including at title page, and with lovely duotone endpapers front and rear and full-cover, full-color pasted-on paper labels to front cover, quite fine. Copyright page says 1919 but yet appears to be a reprint edition, though perhaps an early reprint. Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound hardcover, clean, if lightly toned interiors. vi [1], 1-369 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. . . . Very Good
