The Scottish Chiefs
New York, Charles Scribner's Sons, 1930. Reprint Edition. Hardcover. Size: Large 8vo 9" - 10. This is called a "classic" for good reason. Another in a series of classic children's book titles, an addition to the Scribner Illustrated Classics for Children, published by Charles Scribner's Sons. Fine Introduction by Kate Douglas Wiggin. Black cloth over boards, rubbed gilt lettering to spine, cracking to front pastedown and previous owner's penned inscription. Very slightly wavy text-block, but signs of neither moisture nor odor. Augmented greatly with the illustrations of N.C. Wyeth, full-color, including at title page, and with lovely duotone endpapers front and rear and full-cover, full-color pasted-on paper labels to front cover, quite fine. 1930 reprint of the 1921 edition. Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound hardcover, clean, if lightly toned interiors, very slight foxing to front endpaper, dissipating, minimal rubbing to extremities. xv [1], 1-503 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. . . .
