In this tale, he is discovered chained in the dudgeon of a beautiful warrior princess, and, once released, terrorised those around him. This tale was originally by Alexander Afanasyev, who published nearly six hundred fairy and folk tales during his life. He is considered to be the Russian counterpart to the Brothers Grimm. Illustrated in colour throughout by Ivan Bilibin, who took part in the mir iskusstva.Collated, complete.
