My Children was part of the Aunt Louisa's Toy Books sold for 1 to 2 shillings.Aunt Louisa was the pen name for Laura Belinda Charlotte Jewry, an English writer primarily known for her children's literature. Each Toy Book contains a story of moral teachings. This book explores the relationship between adults and children. It covers Victorian attitudes toward how children should behave towards adults. The attitudes that it covers relate to the Victorian ideas that children should be seen rather than heard. Including the Warne's Nursery Literature adverts for Aunt Louisa's London Toy Books and Warne's Excelsior Toy Books. The story includes five illustrations showing the relationships between mothers and children. Bound in the original pictorial wraps. Externally generally smart. Loss to the front wrap. Nursery Rhyme Pop-Up Pictures is a very well-preserved pop-up book, containing some of the best-loved nursery rhymes such as Jack and Jill, Little Jack Horner and the Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe. A Day at the Zoo contains a poem by Marjorie Crossley and many lovely colour illustrations of the animals in the zoo. These books were published by Purnell and Sons, which was founded in 1839 as a small family printers based in Somerset, and later merged with other printers to become one the largest print groups in the UK and at one time a major publisher. In the original pictorial paper boards. Externally smart, with some bumping to the extremities, the joints and the head and tail of the spine. A Day at the Zoo has a couple of losses to the head of the spine. Faint stains to the rear board of Nursery Rhyme. Internally, firmly bound.
