The nuns at her convent advised her to go to Switzerland or Spain, and she opted for Spain, where the main action in her true but almost unbelievable story takes place, just after the Civil War. Here her simple lifestyle, studying and teaching in a convent's cloistered conditions was suddenly to change as she became caught up in a Resistance operation dedicated to rescuing prisoners of war who had escaped over the Pyrenees after the fall of Free France. While engaged in this dangerous work she was arrested, imprisoned, and charged with high espionage. NOT EX LIB D4B. Fine/Fine.

Prone to professional insecurity and a slave to perfection, he gradually detached himself from the writers, agents and actors who had played an essential role in his success.
