London, Sampson Low, Marston, Searle, & Rivington, 1876. Cloth. A work on the Southern regions of Australia, illustrated with photographs throughout. A interesting piece of travel writing from the late 19th century. The work was edited by the Congregational minister William Harcus. Emigrating to Australia in 1860, he turned his hand to journalism and was appointed the lead writer for South Australian Register. He continued his ministerial and journalist work throughout his life. Collated, incomplete. In the original cloth binding. Externally smart. The odd mark to the front and rear boards. Front and rear joints are starting. Internally, generally firmly bound. A few pages are detached, caused by plate removal rather than the binding, though it is strained in places. Pages are very lightly agetoned. Numerous plates are detached. Overall condition of the work is affected by the lacking plates. Good . Ill.: Unamed. Good .
