Cover and contents are clean and crisp, slight staple rust and staple pulling to cover. Laid-in is an addendum slip explaining that since the first publication, investigation has determined that Captain Wallace was killed by Indians rather than by "self-destruction". That leads us to believe that this copy, and most other copies that are in such good condition, were published later than the 1926 date stated on the title page. Very Good.

One of the letters includes a personal handwritten postcript to Mr. Thygesen, and a list of page references in the 2 volumes for Mr. Thygesen to look-up. A warm asscociation copy with 2 interesting associated letters. One of the letters is partially darkened (but clearly readable) by offsetting of a newpaper clipping which is also laid-in. Very Good.
