In a full calf binding. Externally, generally smart. Some wear to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities, with some loss to the head of the spines of Volumes I and II. Light surface cracks to the spines. Some marks and a little rubbing to the boards and spines. Label to the rear board of Volume II. Front joint of Volume II is cracked. Crack to the head of the rear joint of Volume III. Front joint and hinge of Volume I starting but firm. Volume I bound without a front endpaper. Bookplate to the front paste down of Volume IV, with evidence of a bookplate being removed from the front paste downs of Volumes II and III. Ink inscription to the front paste downs of Volumes II, III, and IV. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned with the occasional spot.
