WODEHOUSE, P.G.
Mike at Wrykyn
New York, Meredith Press, c1953 (1968), 1968, First US printing. Hardcover . Octavo, mint green cloth, mustard endpapers. Corner crease to one leaf done in manufacturing, else fine. Dust jacket has tiny nicks and minor rubbing at ends of very lightly sunned spine, minor soiling to rear panel, very small split in gutter of front cover, VG+ otherwise, flap price intact. PGW adds a special 3+ page Preface for the American edition. First published as MIKE (1910), the first 29 chapters were reissued, with a few changes, under the present title in London in 1953. A school cricket story, for "Boys 10 to 70". Wodehouse commits the heresy (for an Englishman) of stating in the preface that he considers baseball a superior game to cricket.
