Presenting this charming fairy tale novelette written and illustrated by American cartoonist James Thurber. He is best known for his humorous short stories, many of which he published in The New Yorker. His most well known is The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (1939), which was made into a feature film starring Ben Stiller and Kristen Wiig in 2013. The first UK edition printed in 1946. Containing many in-text illustrations by the author.In the original unclipped dust wrapper designed by American painter Don Freeman. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, lovely, with just minor shelf wear. Unclipped dust wrapper is very bright, with just minor chipping to the head of the spine and a couple small closed tears to the head of the rear wrap. A few spots to the external of the rear wrap and to the interior of the wrap, and some light sunning to the spine. Internally, firmly bound. A few spots to the fore-edge and to the front pastedown and front free-endpaper, but otherwise pages are bright and clean. Very Good Indeed . Ill.: James Thurber. Very Good Indeed/Very Good.
