A scarce first edition of this novel by Scottish author Henrietta Keddie, written under the pseudonym Sarah Tytler. Three volumes bound in one; complete. With a publisher's catalogue to rear. Under the pen name Sarah Tytler, Keddie (18271914) was an extremely prolific novelist who worked largely within the mid-century tradition of domestic realism. Many of her publications were historical novels, often with an eighteenth-century background. (DNB) In a cloth covered binding. Externally, sound with shelfwear and straining to hinges. Internally, binding loosening in places with many pages tender. Generally bright and clean except for browning to endpapers. Good . Ill.: None. Good .
