London, take over by Zorn & Co. 1868-1969 plates [63 mostly chromolithographs but also pencil drawings on sepia back-grounds] All tipped onto inserted lettered mounts. . Large Royal 8vo {29 x 20cm] blue half calf on 5 raised bands, spine gilt with red title label marbled paper sides (corners bumped/edges worn) 312pp The early issues did not have a titlepage as the Journal was bound from monthly paper cover issues. The pages are clean but there is some offsetting to the plates. The front endpaper is signed R. Hill, Sheffield and there is a small label removed from the pastedown. This was a short lived Journal that is quite scarce. The final leaf is rather foxed but the pages are clean and tight. *Artists in colour include Teniers, Hogarth, Cuyp, Penley etc. The plates seem to vary in number though ours seems to have the full number of plates however it seems to end at the end of Feb.27,1869.
