Albert Pick & Company - Cool Candy. "Pix Economy" Candy Refrigerators

Chicago, Albert Pick & Company, 1920. Brochure, n. d. (1920s); 10 x 7; pp. [4]; lithographed illustrations and a technical diagram; a few minor cuts to fore-edge; light ink bleed-through; in about very good condition. Founded in 1857 by Austrian-American Albert Pick, the company was in the "merchandising" business, or otherwise aptly known as being in the business of "problem solving." From their gigantic warehouse in Chicago, they helped furnish much of the American service industry, including restaurants, hotels, school and hospital cafeterias, with furniture, janitorial supplies, appliances, and uniforms. They would be remembered for their Phoenix-like rising from being completely demolished by the Great Fire of 1871 and their swift recovery. The current brochure advertised their various candy refrigerators, with dimensions, prices, and description. It also presented a detailed diagram of the inner workings of the appliances. Very good .
