A popular history/biography of Hernando Cortez, the Spanish conquistador who overthrew the Aztec empire in what is now Central America. Abbott seems to bear disdain for the indigenous peoples of the area, and extols the exploits of Cortez. GOOD condition. Moderate fading and scuffing, with some soiling, minor spotting and staining to the covers. Cloth split and frayed along the hinges and extremities. Owner's inscription on the first endpaper. Moderate to heavy scattered foxing in the interior, with minor soiling and staining. Good .
