`, Random House, 1940. ~~~~. Hardcover. (1940). Quarto, pictorial paper covered boards. 38pp. Illustrated in color throughout. Pictorial endpapers and jacket. Jacket is unclipped. The jacket has numerous chips and a 2" closed tear on the back panel. There is an apporximately 1" by 6" loss at the bottom of the front panel of the jacket, clearly shown in the picture. Book is very good with a little wear at the corners. Back hinge has a tape repair. Last title mentioned on "other books by de Brunhoff" on copyright page is "The ABC of Babar. Good +/good.

Internally, library withdrawn stamp and label on endpapers, a few other library stamps, [ about 15 in all ] last plate stamped on verso, [ engraved side free of stamp ], some minor browing or light spotting to a few plates. Pages and plates in good clean condition. This volume contains the full reports, together with plans and diagrams, for the years 1793-1802, during which time the development of the London dock system was first discussed at length and the first docks built.F.
