Gaius Sallustius Crispus, usually Anglicised as Sallust (86 – c. 35 BC), was a Roman historian and politician from a plebeian family, according to his Wikipedia entry. "Probably born at Amiternum in the country of the Sabines, Sallust became a partisan of Julius Caesar (100 to 44 BC), circa 50s BC.
