Arguably the best-known line of Asian food products in the US - LaChoy - despite starting out by offering Chinese cuisine, it was actually founded by a Korean immigrant - Ilhan New - and his friend Wallace Smith. LaChoy Food was incorporated in 1922 in Detroit. The business gained tremendous popularity and grew quickly and in 1937 the current cookbook was published. The latter would go through many editions in the following years and the company would claim to have distributed 8 million copies of it. Near fine .
