Brown half-leather binding with mono-tint printed brown cloth, cloth is lifting off front cover. Corners are heavily scuffed,significant loss at spine ends, all leather is well-rubbed. Gilt title on banded spine. Marbled block edges are darkened. Inner joints are cracked and lowest cord is worn through but covers are secure. Internal binding is sound. Contains frontis, decorated title, plain title, Preface, list of plates, table of contents, text in eight parts (116 pages) containing many vignette (inset) illustrations and plates at rear. Contains all seventy-one plates. Two are coloured and some are double pages. Some are clean, most have a small amount of light foxing and a few have significant foxing.
