In three volumes, all bound in matching half leather bindings by Stikeman & Co. Green morocco spine and corners over marbled boards. Boards scuffed and corners bumped. Hinges very rubbed. Top & tail of spines carefully strengthened. Each spine with 5 raised bands, dulled gilt titles and decoration. Marbled endpapers. Deckle-edged pages. Small binder's stamp to front endpaper: "Bound By Stikeman & Co, For Charles Scribners Sons". Each volume with the original blue cloth covers (gilt fleur de lys design) bound at the end. Clean text throughout all three volumes. Volume I: 'The Cadet; with a portrait frontispiece with tissue guard of D'Artagnan. pp.xvi /pp. 508 ; Volume II: 'The Lieutenant'.
