Batsford,, [1945]. 8vo., First Edition, with coloured frontispiece, 112 monochrome plates on 63 and several illustrations and plans in the text; red cloth, upper board and backstrip lettered in black, a very good, bright, clean copy in price-clipped dustwrapper, the latter chipped with minor loss at headband. The publication of this work as a separate volume enabled the author to revise his earlier standard 'English Church Craftsmanship' (1941). The second edition of the latter work in 1947 provided the present volume with a thorough and complementary study.
