Max Nettlau was a German anarchist, historian, and bibliophile. He made a concentrated effort to collect and preserve Anarchism archives and interviewed many of the leading figures of the movement in the late 1800s and early 1900s. He also maintained close contacts and friendships with many of those figures including Mikhail Bakunin and Errico Malatesta, the former being mentioned in the present book.
