Gustaf Nordenskiöld (1868-95) was the son of Adolf N. and in 1891 he went on a recreation journey to North America due to bad health. He visited south Colorado and became fascinated by the ruins of the cliff dwellers of Mesa Verde. Includes beautiful photo gravures of the ruins, tinted maps, and many textual illustrations after photos of artifacts, weapons, vessels, other ruins, etc. Howes N174.
