Excerpt from "Note On The Binding. By Cyril Davenport, F.S.A.": "..The binding which was chosen for the reproduction for this volume of Mr. Sime's on "The Great Montrose" is taken from one which, although it bears upon it stamps which were made for Henry Prince of wales, was, nevertheless, actually bound for Prince Charles. The binding chosen for reproduction for this volume covers a volume of Gil's "Logonomia Anglica", which was bound for Charles I. (It was presented to the British Museum by George II. in 1757). It is bound in olive morocco and tooled in gold, the boards being lined with crimson watered silk. The same on each side. In the centre is the princely coat-of-arms, on a ground closely powdered with small fleurs-de-lis. Along the edge is a broad double border, the inner fillet of which is made up of reversed cornucopiae, and the outer of a lace-like arrangement of fine arabesque ornamentation on a vandyked base..".
