This book sets out to examine some of the aspects of the rich thought of the period. The problems involved are many: the course of events is not always clear, and the literature of the time presents difficulties. Much of this study is therefore devoted to a thorough scrutiny of what material we have: Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Deuteronomy, Isaiah, Haggai, Zechariah, the Deuteronomic History and the Priestly Work.
