The founder of the New England Genealogical Society and editor of it's periodical the "Register", Samuel Gardner Drake , thanks E.H. Mudge for his subscription. Informed that Mr. Bassett is "declining to take the Reg.r" he expresses his regret at losing a good subscriber "He has been a good subscriber, & I am sorry to lose him." He asks Mudge to let Mr. Bassett know that "as all but one number of the present year have been sent him in good faith, I hope it will not discommode him to go through this year which the conditions of publication require."
