ALDIN, CECIL - Farm-Yard Puppies

London, Humphrey Milford, ND (1911). 1st edition. Hardcover. pp. 92,Small 4to. Bound in original illustrated paper-covered boards. Twelve full-page colour illustrations, each signed in the plate by Aldin with his distinctive signature, plus a 13th illustration of the two puppies on the front board, under the title which is printed in bright red letters. Each illustration is accompanied by a poem (dare we say 'doggerel'?). Boards rubbed at the edges, with small loss to the tips, and some light scuffing and soiling. Hinges tight, but text block partially separated from the spine. Some off-setting of the coloured illustrations to the following pages: neither untoward nor extensive. Several pages have fingerprint smudges. Overall, good. Ill.: colour illustrations. An early Aldin 'puppy' tale. No date of publication is shown but our research indicates that it was published in 1911. Aldin is both the writer and the illustrator.
