The wraps are lightly soiled & foxed with the issue numbers handwritten in the top left corners of the front wraps. The spines are darkened & chipped with small pieces out. The Part 6 spine is torn & the lower third of each wrap is detached. Title, [1] leaf & pages [1]-60 plus index & ads; title, [1] leaf & pages [61]-120 plus ads; title, [ii] & pages [121]-180 plus ads; title, [ii] & pages [181]-240 plus ads; and title, [ii] & pages [301]-360 plus ads. Partially unopened. Illustrated with tables & with a folding diagram in Part I. There is some light foxing & the page edges are slightly darkened. Good. The Institute of Actuaries was founded in 1848 and contributed to the study of the theory of life contingencies, enabling an exchange of ideas between its members and bringing about a greater consistency in their methods. Its aims were advanced by the publication of its Journal, originally called The Assurance Magazine, which first appeared in September 1850. The magazine was founded by two well-known actuaries, Charles Jellicoe and Samuel Brown, and was adopted as the organ of the Institute of Actuaries in 1852. Jellicoe continued as its editor until 1867 when he was succeeded by T. B. Sprague. Good .

USA - Domestic shipping via media mail within the USA is $3.75 for the first book and $2.00 for each additional book or item. Priority mail shipping is $15.10 for the first book and $5.00 for each additional book or item.

Other items will be shipped via International First Class Mail for a parcel weighing 3 lbs or less is $34.50 USD. We require payment in advance of shipping, except where a regular account has been created (Academic Libraries only). We always post 1st class and Airmail, every weekday! All shipping quotes are based on fast efficient service with the best possible packaging. Insurance or tracking is available on all packages subject to an extra charge.
Standard delivery charge is based on average weight of books - about 0.9Kg. Heavy items (over 1.5Kg) may require extra postage depending on destination. We'll e-mail you if necessary. Contact us direct with any queries, special requests or quotes for specific orders.
We accept all credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express etc), £, $ and € bank transfers, Paypal, cheques etc.

Returning unwanted goods
7 days to cancel purchase for non-faulty goods
In the EU, you have the right to cancel your on-line purchase within seven working days.
This seven-day “cooling off” period begins on the day when you receive your purchase.
You can choose to cancel your order for any reason within this time frame – even if you simply changed your mind.
We will give you a refund within 30 days. This refund must include any shipping charges you paid when you made your purchase.
Although you have a right of refund, you will have to pay the postage costs of shipping goods bought on-line back to us.

Our voluntary returns guarantee: You may return, for a full refund, any item ordered from us within 30 days of receipt, provided it is in perfect condition.
Please contact us to obtain a returns authorisation by completing and returning this cancellation form, emailing (books@psychobabel.co.uk) or telephoning +44(0)1235 861411. You will be responsible for the cost of returning the item to us, unless we delivered it to you in error or it is faulty. It is your responsibility to ensure safe return of the item.
If you return a high-value item, we recommend you use a recorded delivery service. Once we've received your item, we'll refund the same means of payment as you used to make your purchase. This returns guarantee doesn't affect your statutory rights and therefore doesn't affect your right of cancellation described above.
Emails are usually answered within 24 hours, except at weekends.
Shipping/Delivery Times
We ship orders from Monday to Friday and all orders received and paid for before 3:00pm are sent the same day. Orders placed on weekends or Bank Holidays are shipped the following business day.
UK packages are sent via Royal Mail. International orders are shipped via Royal Mail's airmail service. Expedited courier deliveries can be arranged. Please contact us for a quote.
Heavy orders (over 5kg UK or international) are usually shipped via private couriers. If your order is for a particularly heavy book or a volume set, please contact us with your shipping address and we will quote your total cost - the price of your order plus shipping costs - before you place your order.
Postal Insurance and special delivery is available at extra cost - simply let us know and we'll quote your total order amount, including p&p for whatever service you require.
