Clean English text throughout. A very good copy of this scarce book.** John Blair, Bard, a member of the Lodge Journeyman 8. John Blair (1819-1889) was forced to leave school a 8 years following the death of his father, and work in a typographical foundry, later becoming a journalist and apart from a stay of 4 years in London, lived all his life in Edinburgh. John Blair eventually became manager of the Marr Type Foundry. He died in early March, in Edinburgh, in his 71st year. He was a man of active mind and much ability. He Was the main editor of the North British Express during the time it existed. He was a Chartist leader, prominent Freemason and Oddfellow, and a poet.
