This is an oversized Book (Oblong, spiral binding - elephant folio - approx. 18" x 26") The book covers are heavy cardstock with a spiral binding. The book is in Near Fine condition and comes with a very large cardboard case in Very Good condition. The case has several spots of discoloration and fading, along with several small punctures to the top cardboard cover. The book contains 36 full color plates (lithographs) , each having a partial page of description preceding the illustration, of battle scenes reproduced from original chromolithos by Kurz and Allison. "In 1880, Kurz joined with Alexander Allison to form the firm of Kurz & Allison. Notable works include the series of chromolithographs of Battles of the Civil War produced between 1883 and 1894. It is unclear when their partnership dissolved; the latest-known prints with the Kurz & Allison credit line date from 1907; Kurz continued to produce prints with only his name up until 1911."
