Cadell in the Strand, 1777. i-[viii],151 pp. Quarto, side-sewn in (contemporary?) plain paper wrappers, with title supplied by hand on top wrapper. Half-title leaf is detached and edge-chipped. Top-edge of one leaf is cut away, but without loss of text, and the final leaf has a pinky-shaped peninsula of loss affecting just one word. A few text pages are browned but most are clean, though several have dog-eared corners. Wrappers, plus intital and closing leaves are soiled. The text justifies colonial taxation as an ancient practice. Offered as is. (Howes B179, Kress B.9, Sabin 3644a). .
